08 Baptism is one of the two rituals that the church has been given baptism and communion, which makes baptism extremely important for you and me to understand. Today we're gonna look at three things about baptism Number one. What is baptism number two? What? Baptism is not. And three, What is the right way to be baptized?
00 Baptism was a Jewish ritual before Ever became a part of Christianity. If you were a gentile, but you wanted to become Jewish by faith, then you had to go through a process. And part of that process was going through baptism.
00 John the Baptist used baptism as a way of getting people ready because the Messiah was about to appear. He would say to them, Straighten out your life, make your path straight because the Messiah is about here and he would baptize them in a way of saying, You're no longer living this way. But now you are preparing yourself, making yourself ready to receive the Messiah.
00 Jesus also baptizes us when we become Christians, John the Baptist said. I baptize you with water, but one comes after me who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire and first Corinthians 12 13 says, for by one spirit, we were all baptized into the body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves are free and having all been made to drink of one spirit, that is that no matter what our differences are that Christianity is far greater than any of that, and we have been baptized into a body of Christ with all kinds of different people, and it's such an amazing work.
00 Water baptism is an outward expression off. What's taking place inside of you, Jesus said. Go out into all the world making disciples, baptizing them in the name of the father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. You make disciples first, and then you baptized them.
