04:23 hi, this is Robert furrow and welcome to hot topics if you're new here consider liking subscribing sharing, and ringing the bell so you can get all of our new content the comment section is open below we would love to hear from you let's take a look at three passages in the bible that tell us about the return of Jesus if you want to look them up it's 2 Thessalonians chapter 1 verses 5 through 10. it's revelation 19 verses 11 through 16 and it's luke 21 25-28 these are three different accounts of the return of Jesus and help us to understand the kind of things that are going to happen so we start in the 2nd Thessalonians chapter 1 verses 5 through 10. and i want to say about this passage first of all that some who don't believe in the pre-tribulation rapture find the rapture and the return of jesus in this passage but it's not there it's only the return of jesus remember the saints come with him the church christians come with jesus to this earth and it's very powerful when we understand that colossians tells us that when jesus returns we will be with him so uh paul is talking to them here in second thessalonians chapter one about their distress their tribulations their trials people are persecuting them and so here's what he says in verse five he says which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of god that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of god for which you also suffer since it is a righteous thing with god to repay with tribulation those who trouble you so god's saying that he is going to take vengeance on those who are troubling them some were being killed some were being persecuted greatly and paul is saying that god is going to take up your cause one day he gives when it's going to happen he says in verse 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the lord jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels and so there's the concept of rest how is it rest when jesus returns to bring vengeance on those who have persecuted the church for those who have been persecuted well remember in revelation we have tribulation saints that have been beheaded and killed for their faith who are under the throne who are asking about vengeance on those who did it and god says to be patient that he will bring vengeance so there's something about god paying back those who did those things that brings us rest even after we've been with him for seven years and we return with him it goes on to say that he's going to return in flaming fire that is the fire of his glory literally that he's coming with fire it says taking vengeance on those who do not know god so god is the one who takes vengeance the bible says that he's a jealous.
